Blues museums are planned for St. Louis and Chicago.  Navy Pier is the location here.  It's a great spot for tourists, which should raise the profile of the music that our city is famous for around the world.  And organizers say the museum will offer a space for live performances.  Hopefully it will include  the West Side's rich blues history—the home of Maxwell Street, Cobra Records (Magic Sam, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush) and such amazing clubs as Silvio's, Duke's Blue Flame, the 1815, and the Delta Fish Market -- and today's West Side blues musicians.

Now's the time for our public officials and blues people to  step up and claim a spot in the limelight.
