Derrick Sanders and Ben Levenson are the presenters of “The Post Prison Traumatic Stress Disorder.” They will share personal anecdotes and years of experience working with returning citizens.

Derrick Sanders, Workforce Coach and Trainer, has specialized in employment training and clinical services for citizens returning from incarceration since 2005. Derrick brings experience as a clinical coordinator and in curriculum implementation to NLEN, is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Anger Management Specialist Level II, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from National Lewis University.

 Ben Levenson, Workforce Coach, first came to NLEN as our Princeton Project 55 Fellow and Program Assistant. He graduated from Princeton University in 2013 and comes to NLEN by way of the Princeton Project 55 Fellowship, a public interest fellowship for recent graduates. He volunteers in grassroots organizing with The People’s Lobby and is particularly interested in fighting for global economic justice.

This program is a collaboration of the Oak Park Community Relations Commission and the Oak Park Public Library.
