Speaking of 'Black Panther' 

On Tuesday, Feb. 27, 6 p.m., the TRY Center, Inc., will sponsor a community discussion of the movie, "Black Panther," at Nandos Peri Peri, 1138 Lake St., in Oak Park. Reservations are not required. For additional information, visit: citychatusa.com or call (708) 660-9820.

 

Join a conversation on black homeownership 

On Saturday, Feb. 24, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Malcolm X College Auditorium, 1900 W. Jackson Blvd., state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford (8th) and the Dearborn Realtist Board will host the State of Black Homeownership Town Hall. 

Key discussion topics will include the decline of black homeownership and population, ongoing barriers to home loans and questionable tax assessments, among others. For more info, contact the Dearborn Realtist Board at drebmail@gmail.com .
