Apply for a Peace Hub mini-grant 

If you're a North Lawndale nonprofit, church, block club, youth center, school or the like, consider applying for Peace Hub North Lawndale's 2018 Youth Led Mini-Grant, established to fund violence prevention activities designed and led by youth in North Lawndale. Give your input about the county's strategic plan 

On Thursday, May 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Maywood Multipurpose Building, 200 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will host a community conversation about a 4-year strategic plan the county is developing. Get ready for the Annual Tax Sale 

Starting Friday, May 4, 8:30 a.m., the Cook County Treasurer's Office will conduct the 2016 Annual Tax Sale, which is held for taxes that weren't paid when due on March 1 or August 1, 2017. According to the Treasurer's Office, it's called the 206 Annual Tax Sale because 2016 taxes were collected in 2017. For more info, visit cookcountytreasurer.com.
