By West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders

A former 'Gangster Queen' recently joined the West Garfield Park Youth Council's Campaign to Reduce Violence and Substance Abuse.

On June 23, 2014, Mother Hollywood joined the West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders and the West Garfield Park Youth Council to address Underage Drinking, Violence and Prevention of other Substance Abuse.

Needless to say, this was really a strong, compassionate and motivating gathering of young people who came together to discuss ways to reduce violence and substance abuse in their community.

Topics covered were:

1.  Owning your own businesses.
2.  Pursuing higher educational opportunities
3.  Community organizing
4.  Taking a Stand on "doing the Right Thing in the Hood"
5.  Working together to Empower our Communities
