On Saturday, August 22, 2015, the Northwest Environmental Business Council (NEBC) Employment Resource Services provided a 9-week day camp for Austin children and youth which culminated in a Back to School celebration. There were up to 60 children and youth in attendance in the summer program which included academic support, spoken word, dance, and drama. The project was led by Rachel Walker-Clark, a first-year CPS teacher at Diego Elementary School.

The program partnered with One Summer Chicago, providing summer employment for three youth. One of them, Terriana Burks who is going into her sophomore year at Orr High School, loved the experience of working with the children this summer. In fact, she worked an extra week as a volunteer since Once Summer Chicago ended a week before the NEBC day camp ended. She had such a positive experience working with the children that she is thinking to pursue education and school counseling in her post-secondary educational efforts.

The Saturday performance lasted for an hour and included numerous songs, dance routines, spoken word, and drama presentations. The children and youth were fully engaged and their families had a great day of entertainment and food to cap off the summer's activities.
