The West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders are hosting a Community Empowerment Event for Environmental and Social Change for the month October 2015 called the 2nd Annual Anti-Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention Day.

Theme:  “Don’t Drink, Smoke or Kill” – “Love Yourself” and  Support Our Pledge to Promote A Safe and Drug Free West Side.

Why:  Bridging the Intergenerational Gaps Between Young People, Mental Health and Mature Adults, to Reduce Underage Drinking, Substance Abuse and Senseless Violence. Community Empowerment Day

The West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders, a consortium of residents, agencies, churches, elected officials, law enforcement, and businesses working together to improve the quality of life on the West Side community, is actively engaged in efforts to prevent substance abuse by young people and ending youth violence.  
 
Our Community Empowerment and Unification meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Mondayof each month, at 6:00 pm. SHARP at 4540 West Washington, Blvd. in Chicago.   
 
Everyone is always welcomed to attend, if you are concerned with the future of the West Garfield Park Community and the welfare of its residents.
