Humboldt Park kids enjoy gymnastics and other activities every Wednesday at their neighborhood field house. The physical activity and nutritional education programs are for kids of all ages. The classes are run by the Chicago Partnership for Health Promotion, which is a part of University of Illinois' Great Cities Neighborhoods Initiative.
The goal is to improve nutritional habits throughout different Chicago communities in the city. Many of the wellness classes are offered free to children and seniors. Adult programs usually require a small fee. Fall 2012 wellness programs at Humboldt Park, 1440 N. Sacramento Ave, will run until Dec. 9. Call 312-742-7549.
