Christ the King High School in Austin drew more that 200 attendees Saturday for the Peace Tournament Basketball West Side. The game was organized by retired NBA great Isiah Thomas and CeaseFire.
The Austin tourney, as well as one held earlier this fall on the South Side, brought together current and former gang members to meet on the basketball court rather than the streets.
Thomas (pictured) was a coach in the game. Christ the King, 5088 W. Jackson, also hosted an anti-violence talk before the game between youth and some of the tourney's organizers.
