Energy bill assistance program starts July 31

The state’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) starts Monday July 31 at CEDA sites across the city. Eligible recipients should bring a current light bill, proof of last 30-day income and social security cards for all household members. Eligible recipients include low-income individuals who are: seniors age 60 and over, families with a child under age 3, on government disability, or in medical need (medical statement required).

Those interested can apply at the South Austin Coalition, 342 S. Laramie, and the SACCC Senior Center, 5071 W. Congress Pkwy, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call the South Austin Coalition at 773/287-4570.
