A Chicago Police squad car was involved in an accident with a private cleaning company truck late last Wednesday night. The crash occurred Oct. 25 at the corner of Cicero and Van Buren at around 12:15 a.m. The squad car and sweeper truck were both traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue. The squad car was travelling behind the truck, which had the name Professional Cleaning Company Inc. on its side. The police were not believed to be in pursuit of the truck. The squad car smashed into the rear end of the truck, causing major damage to the front end of the squad car. No one was injured in the accident, according to a police spokesperson. The sweeper was occupied by a single driver while two officers were in the squad car. Police removed several items from the squad car as additional vehicle officers arrived at the scene. As of last Friday, no charges were filed in the accident.
