Chicago Police are investigating a Jan. 26 incident involving the attemped abduction of a 14-year-old girl in Austin.
The incident occured at 10:05 in the morning on the 5000 block of West Van Buren.
According to police, the unidentified girl was walking to the store when she was approaced by two men in a white mini-van. One man asked the victim to get into his vehicle and continuted to follow the victim after she declined. The second man then excited the vehicle and opened the slidding door of the van. The victim then fled into the store.
The first offender, (pictured), is described as a black male, age 50-60, 5 feet tall with a dark complexion and wearing glasses. The second offender is described as a black male, between 20-30 years old, standing six feet tall with a dark complexion. Police did not provide a composite of the second offender.
The white mini-van driven by the offenders had slidding doors on both sides and silver duct tape on the wheel panel over the driver’s rear tire side. A large rust spot is near the duct tape.
