The Area Five Detective Division issued a community alert on Aug. 20.
Attempted abduction of a child in the 15th District:
An unknown male black offender climbed a rear gate and called to a 4-year-old female victim to come to him. The offender fled when confronted by the victim’s sister.
The offender is described as 37-40 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, dark complexion with long braids and a goatee. He was reportedly wearing a blue-and-white, striped shirt and matching shorts with blue gym shoes and driving an older model blue Ford Crown Victoria with front-end damage.

Be aware of this incident and inform your neighbors.
Report any suspicious person(s) or vehicles to 911.
If you report suspicious activity, try to get a good description of the individual or the vehicle being used.
