The Juneteenth Festival wrapped up on Tuesday following six days of food, entertainment and vendors selling their wares. Hundreds attended the event.

The West Side Historical Society, a reconstituted organization that has its West Side roots dating back to the early 1940s, organized the festival that went off without a hitch.

Austin Weekly News was a sponsor of the six-day festival at Garfield Park.

This was fifth festival organized in the area since 2003 – the last event was in 2008. The Chicago Park District, and the Westside Arts Council were also festival sponsors.
