“I think he was guilty because he was trying to sell the senate seat, and I can’t wait until they get Daley too.  I don’t know how much time they should give him; he just needs to rot in jail.”

Jimmy Calvin

“For one thing, by him being the governor, he should have been the type of man to show an example for others since all the other governors we had were corrupt. What kicked it off was when he was trying to sell Obama’s seat. What goes around comes around when you do dirt. I think he got what he deserves. By him doing fed time, I don’t know how old he is, but I know he should be about 50 or over 50, I think he should do about a good 10 or 15 years and make sure he pays all restitution.”

Mack Boyd

“I think it’s wrong for them to convict him because I don’t see anything he did. He talk crazy out the mouth, but outside of that, I don’t think he did nothing wrong. I think he should have been found not guilty. He just talked crazy out the mouth. His mouth was too big. That’s how I feel about it.”

Karen Sandford

“I think he should get a least 20 years. I think he was guilty of money laundering and trying to sell that senate seat, and definitely of lying – perjury. Since he was governor, I think he should get more time, like 20 years.”

Wendell Richardson

“I don’t think he should get no time because all the rest of them messed up too.  I think he was wrongly convicted. He did some of the things they convicted him of, but I don’t think he should do no time because all of them are corrupted. He should be convicted, don’t get me wrong, because he broke the law, but I don’t think he should get no time.”

Paul Shaffer

“Well, I really don’t know what happened. We really don’t know what happened, but I think he should get some time like Ryan got some time because he was trying to sell the (senate) seat, and he got caught. I read in the newspaper all those counts that he had. That’s the feds, and the feds don’t play. You see Mayor Daley got out from in there because he would probably be the next one they go after. He (Blagojevich) was in the wrong. He shouldn’t get no more than six or seven years.  Ryan got six (years), and look how many counts he was convicted on? Seventeen. That’s the fourth governor to get convicted. They’re in there stealing the money, why are they steadily stealing our money?”

Annie Patton

“I don’t think he should get no time. I don’t think he is guilty. I think he’s guilty in a certain sense. Yes, they’re all guilty, but did the rest of them get any time? They didn’t catch him; they just claimed him. His mouth is so big. I don’t think he should do time because he is just guilty of running his mouth. That’s the problem; a lot of people run their mouth and don’t do stuff, and a lot of people run their mouth and do stuff. I think he just ran his mouth too much, and I think he just played with the wrong people.”
