Opportunity is knocking for the Columbus Park Chicago Chargers to take their talent national for a second year in a row:

The Columbus Park Chicago Chargers Youth Football and Cheer youth (CCYP) have all worked hard for eight months; the kids are all having a great season. All five CCYP teams are winning, four are 5-2 and heading to the playoffs in hopes of making it to the national championship and one level is 7-0 and already eligible to compete at the UYFL National Championship in Tampa, Fla. from Dec. 1Ð8. Last year, after several failed attempts to raise funds for some of the underprivileged kids, the CCYP Chargers reached out to the city for help five days before the trip to the national championship in New Orleans and raised enough funds to go. This year the Chargers are trying to get a jump-start on getting the funds for this year’s trip in Florida.

The Columbus Park Chicago Chargers Youth Program is a non-profit organization founded in 2006. This organization is helping the youth of the inner city of Chicago by keeping the youth productive and being an alternative to drugs, gangs, guns, and failure. CCYP promotes fitness, good sportsmanship, self-esteem, and teamwork in youth age 5-15 years. By offering them a fun after-school and weekend activity, CCYP gives our youth a positive place to direct boundless energy. Today there are 200 kids in the program that are passionate about tackle football and cheerleading but live in low-income households.

We have found out that the trip is very costly, so I am soliciting on behalf of the children of this program who have worked very hard in the classroom and on the field. We are in need of some financial support. CCYP teams represent Chicago as a city and Illinois as a state. All contributions will help defray expenses like travel, room and board and meals for the participants.

A sponsor’s sole link with CCYP is a tax-deductible monetary contribution. You are not required to participate in any way. The city and state are clearly excited and eager to see this program reach success. You can be a part of that excitement by supporting our city youth with a contribution of anything you find in your heart to give. CCYP will be happy to acknowledge your contribution on the website and at our numerous events, (unless you prefer otherwise).

Thank you for your time and interest. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact.
