The North Avenue Business Association (NABA) is sponsoring its seventh annual scholarship for area high school seniors entering college as a business major. Two $1,000 applications will be awarded. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2013.

“The business association is a well-established network of business and property owners, “states Lee Owens, NABA President. “The scholarship program provides an opportunity for members to reach beyond business concerns, into the community at large. “

Eligible students must complete an application and essay and reside in the Village of Oak Park, River Forest or the City of Chicago neighborhoods of Galewood and parts of Austin. Chicago resident borders are Armitage/Railroad Tracks (2000 North) to the north, Division (1200 North) to the south, Austin Boulevard (6000 West) to the east and Harlem Avenue (7000 West) to the west.

The mission of the North Avenue Business Association is to enhance the overall commercial district’s image and to promote the long-term viability of the business district on North Avenue, located currently between but not limited to Harlem and Austin Boulevard.
