The Foundation To Be Named Later (FTBNL) (the family foundation of Theo Epstein, President of the Chicago Cubs and his twin brother, Paul, MSW) selected Garfield Park Little League (GPLL) to receive the official first round of its funding grants! GPLL was chosen for their hard and important work and will receive a cash gift to the organization.
GPPL met Theo Epstein, his staff, and several members of the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Wednesday, May 15th.
The Foundation To Be Named Later was launched in the spring of 2005 by Theo Epstein, Chicago Cubs President and former Red Sox Executive Vice President and General Manager and his twin brother Paul Epstein, a social worker in the Brookline Public School system. FTBNL’s mission is to raise funds and awareness for non-profit agencies serving disadvantaged youth from the front lines in both Boston and Chicago. They invest in programs that promote leadership, education and the healthy development of families. FTBNL has awarded over $5 million in grants to 200 well deserving non-profit agencies. They’ve also awarded direct college scholarships to 30 low income-high potential youth through the Peter Gammons/FTBNL Scholar Program and have sent over 3,500 underserved kids to professional ball games…an experience otherwise beyond their capacity.
Joining in the celebration was Allyce Najimy, Executive Director of FTBNL, Robert Lewis, Jr and Linda Antonucci of Boston Astros Baseball, Craig K. Huffman, Ascendance Partners and Eric Davis & Miriam Ehrlich of D & J Entertainment Holdings LLC, among others.
