Austin pep bands and community volunteers and leaders participated in the 34th annual Austin back-to-school parade hosted by Congressman Danny K. Davis on Saturday.

“We’ve got 5,000 books that we’re going to distribute today,” said Davis, “and of course we’ll have bookbags and school supplies.”

The parade began at Bloomington and Central and ended in Columbus Park, also the location of the Taste of Austin last weekend, where students received donated supplies.
