Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes celebrates her 37th birthday today. She won a gold medal and two bronze medals in gymnastics at the 1996 summer Olympics. Dawes is the first black woman to win an individual Olympic medal in artistic gymnastics and the first black person of any gender or nationality to win gold in the event.
