Thursday, December 19th was a busy day, packed with events.
First, I went to Austin Weekly News’ monthly meeting of West Side Bridge, their networking group whose mission is to bridge the gap between Chicago and the suburbs. The meeting, held at By the Hand Club, was attended by several of our usual guests as well as a couple of new-comers. By The Hand is a Chicago-based, after-school program that emphasizes academic excellence while nurturing the whole child—mind, body and soul.
Next, I was grateful to attend the Winter Fine Arts Celebration at 5pm in the gym at Catalyst Circle Rock Charter School, located at 5608 W. Washington Blvd. in Chicago. The kids were excited to show their families and friends the result of all the hard work they’ve put in.
After that, I met up with members of the Austin Chamber of Commerce for their Annual Holiday Party that was held at Because I Care, Inc. Click here to read the blog post and see photos from the event.
Finally, I went to the Circle Family Healthcare Network Holiday Party at the Walls Memorial Overnight Men’s Shelter in Chicago. Circle Family’s mission is to improve the physical, behavioral, and spiritual health status of the communities we serve by providing an integrated array of health, educational services and community development initiatives that will enhance the quality of life.
