It’s been a week of dangerously cold temperatures and high winds. While it’s warmed up somewhat, please continue to take precautions to stay warm and safe.
If you need a place to keep warm, the closest warming centers to our community are:
Garfield Center, 10 S. Kedzie Ave. and Trina Davila, 4357 W. Armitage Ave.

In other news, I’m glad to announce that we have successfully designated 1900 N. Austin as a Special Use Area, which will require community input going forward on any future use of the area as a scrap metal yard. This will help cut down on noise pollution.
We’re working hard to get Divvy stations in the 29th Ward. Let them know you want a bike share station in our area! They’ll determine where to place future stations based partly on demand–so let’s speak up! Click here to make your voice heard, or call 855-55-DIVVY.
Finally, I hope you will join me Wednesday, February 5, at 7pm at the Columbus Park Refectory, for my annual State of the Ward address. I look forward to discussing the progress we’ve made and the path forward with you.
Thanks for all that you do to make the 29th Ward a safe, healthy and vibrant community.
