Oak Park, IL, February 19, 2014-Due to the success of the Champion Grant in 2013, Community Bank is proud to announce that the Champion Grant will again be available throughout 2014. Through the Champion Grant, Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest encourages growth and support in economically challenged communities. Nonprofit organizations that received the Champion Grant in 2013 used it for projects such as financial literacy training, job readiness instruction, food assistance programs, and community development. Champion Grants will be awarded to qualifying organizations throughout the year, and the application is available on the Community Bank website at www.cboprf.com. There is a notable change to the Champion Grant application process for 2014. Organizations are only eligible to receive the Champion Grant once every other year. Therefore, 2013 Champion Grant recipients are not eligible in 2014, but will be eligible again in 2015.
To kick off the 2014 Champion Grant campaign, Community Bank will be hosting an open house on Thursday, March 6. All representatives of nonprofit organizations are invited to attend this free open house to learn more about the Champion Grant, as well as drop off grant applications. Details are as follows:
