On Sunday, March 30th, our director, Shannon Medic, had a house fire that completely destroyed the home that she bought and remodeled herself. Thankfully everyone, including her dogs, got out without harm. Still the entire home is totally gone, including ALL of her belongings.

These next few days, weeks and months are going to be incredibly challenging for her and her family. Even with insurance, she will still be looking at tens of thousands of dollars to get herself back on track. I know she is going to need all the help she can get so I am pleading with you to please donate as much as you can to help someone who, literally would give the last two pennies in her pocket to help a stranger before worrying about herself.
Whether you have crossed paths with Shannon through Reason to Give or not, I can tell you without a doubt that this organization would not exist without her. She does SO MUCH for everyone, not only in Humboldt Park, but across this entire world. My hope is that this fundraiser can ease even a tiny portion of the pain + challenges she is experiencing and will be for a long time to come. Raising funds quickly is crucial to helping her in this unspeakably difficult time.
