IDOT has put forth four possible proposals to renovate the Eisenhower Expressway from Racine Avenue to Mannheim Road. Improvements and future plans for the CTA Blue Line are also under discussion.

IDOT has said it will choose a final “preferred” alternative (meaning final plan for improvement and expansion) by late 2014, including adding highway lanes and moving exit and entrance ramps.

On April 22, Sen. Kimberly A. Lightford will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting to discuss this project. Representatives from IDOT, the CTA, Citizens for Appropriate Transportation, unions and the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association will be on hand to help answer questions about the renovation.

The town hall will be held at Proviso Math and Science Academy, located at 8601 West Roosevelt Road in Forest Park from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
