Many local residents came out on Saturday, June 14th to commemorate the emancipation from slavery with the Annual Juneteenth Festival and Peace Parade. The West Side Historical Society hosted this day full of vendors, music and entertainment at the 5800 Block of West Chicago Avenue in Chicago.

The parade kicked off at 11:00am. The Grand Marshal was Charmaine Rickette, Owner of Uncle Remus restaurant. Honorary Marshals were 15th District Commander Barbara West and Community Advocate Claiborne Wade.
