The Garfield Park neighborhood runs their farmers’ market with a twist. The produce sold at the market is grown in community gardens and at the Garfield Park Conservatory – all within 12 blocks of the market.
The market also features several neighborhood vendors selling soaps, homemade sodas, and jewelry. VKUrban Farms sells homemade sauces, pickled vegetables, and preserves produced three blocks away. Plus, live entertainment and children activities.
The August Market will stay open until 2 PM to accommodate 35th Annual American Community Garden Association National Conference participants coming from the Field Museum.
