Remember Austin when …

Then-state Sen. Barack Obama came to Austin in October 2004 for a fundraiser at Columbus Park Refectory for his U.S. Senate campaign. Local Democrats in attendance included Austin state Sen. Kimberly Lightford and then-29th Ward Ald. Isaac Carothers. Obama would win the U.S. Senate seat that November.
