Larry Taylor’s band will be one of seven contestants Sunday night Nov. 9 at the Windy City Blues Challenge, 6 to 11 p.m. at Buddy Guy’s Legends, 700 S. Wabash.  The winner will compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Jan. 20-24 2015.  The bands feature great musicians of all ages and sizes.

Larry Hill Taylor, legendary blues singer and drummer, is the oldest son of the master guitarist Eddie “Playboy” Taylor—VeeJay recording artist, Jimmy Reed’s music partner and architect of the boogie and “lump” rhythms that power Chicago’s world-famous blues music.

Today Larry’s a legend in his own right, and a leader of the current Chicago Blues generation.  He faithfully carries his Mississippi-born father’s 1950s music traditions, which will be on displaySunday night. His band can also bring the R&B/soul tunes which sprang from blues in his own West Side neighborhood, which will suit any celebration…birthdays, reunions, New Years Eve… Might be for you! http://www.larrytaylorchicagoblues.com
