Along with help enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace and linking residents with health services, Get Covered America is presenting its bilingual “Health Insurance 101” series, which will serve as a free educational opportunity for West Side consumers to receive information about health insurance coverage and the Affordable Care Act. Attendees will learn about all aspects of health insurance coverage, including:
- Health insurance tutorial: Explanations and clarifications of health insurance terms like deductibles, premiums and co-pays
- How to use your health insurance once you have it: Getting the type of care you need and finding a doctor within your network
- Affordable Care Act basics: What the new health care law means, affordable plans available for you and your family
- Next steps: How to get enrolled during the next open enrollment period and how to access the free in-person enrollment assistance that’s available throughout the West Side.
In addition to free in-person enrollment assistance and health services, the event will feature free food and raffle contests.
