Hundreds of local residents, business owners and politicians came out to the Columbus Park Refectory on Jackson Boulevard in Chicago on Thursday, December 4, 2014. Guests enjoyed the chance to make connections while listening to live entertainment, visiting the vendors, and entering to win dozens of raffle prizes.
The holiday party was a community event with multi-generational attendees from various professional backgrounds. It was an accurate representation of what the West Side has to offer. One guest remarked he reconnected with people he hadn’t seen in 20 years. Attendees also enjoyed a “Local Eats” buffet that showcased food from local restaurants such as Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles, DiNico’s Pizza & Gelato, Elliotts Augusta Pizza & Grill, Fatduck Tavern & Grill, MacArthur’s Restaurant – Fine Southern Cuisine, Pizza Hut, Scratch Kitchen & Lounge, Sergio’s Place Mexican Restaurant in Chicago, Silverland Bakery, Slice Factory, Starbucks, Wells Street Popcorn, and Whole Foods Market – River Forest.
