Sankofa Cultural Center will host a free ceremony Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. to honor Chicago’s Queen of Poetry, Mama Brenda.

There will be an in-depth discussion about the signs, symptoms and dangers of diabetes as well as an oppoortunity to get recipe tips to make some of your favorite recipes healthier and learn how to manage diabetes before it is too late.
