Fathers Who Care and the West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders teamed up to spread holiday cheer throughout Chicago. They brought gifts to the 4th and 5th graders at George Leland Elementary School at 512 S. Lavergne Avenue in Chicago.

The two groups also visited Community Centers, shelters and Detention Centers throughout Chicago’s West Side.

Fathers Who Care is a comprehensive, parental involvement social service initiative that was created to provide a nurturing and educational environment for non-custodial and custodial fathers who are indigent, but interested in building their parental involvement and social skills, while also maintaining a positive and successful relationship with their children.  Fathers Who Care is committed to providing alternative to Violence in our communities.

The West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders, a consortium of residents, agencies, churches, elected officials, law enforcement, and businesses working together to improve the quality of life on the West Side community, is actively engaged in efforts to prevent substance abuse by young people and ending youth violence.

Our Community Empowerment and Unification meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Monday of each month, at 6pm SHARP at 4540 West Washington, Blvd. in Chicago.

Everyone is always welcomed to attend, if you are concerned with the future of the West Garfield Park Community and the welfare of its residents.
