The Chicago Sun-Times released the first of its candidate endorsements for aldermen today, Feb. 4, with the first ten wards of the city covered today. The remaining endorsements will be released on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

One major clue on which candidates running for the 28th, 29th and 37th ward alderman positions may receive the paper’s endorsement is whether or not each filled out the publication’s questionnaire, which was submitted earlier in the race.

The Sun-Times editorial board makes its endorsements based on the questionnaires, in addition to “interviews with candidates and research by the Board.”.

Candidates who did not fill out a Sun-Times questionnaire will likely not receive the paper’s endorsement. With that in mind, these are the following candidates in each ward race who the paper indicates may have filled out its questionnaire (their names are highlighted in blue on the paper’s website).
