(Office of Rep. Ford) Illinois State Representative La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, and his Eighth District Advisory Committee will meet with Oak Park Village President Anan Abu-Taleb on April 13th in Oak Park. Fulfilling his commitment of meeting with his advisory committee once a month, Rep. Ford begins his Eighth District tour in Oak Park. Rep. Ford plans to meet monthly with elected officials in the Eighth Legislative District in each of their communities. Rep. Ford will meet with his advisory committee and Oak Park Village President Anan AbuTaleb to discuss current events and important issues important to Oak Park and the Eighth District.

“Meeting with our Eighth District community officials and the Eighth District Advisory Committee will produce an additional in-depth perspective of our communities,” Ford said. “This will open up constructive discussions that will benefit our communities while also bringing their voices to Springfield. It is in my hope that our meeting with Village President Anan Abu-Taleb will continue steps in the right direction for constituents’ needs in the Eighth District and in the state of Illinois”. 

Rep. Ford and his Advisory Committee will discuss topics with Village President Abu-Taleb such as: Veteran Affairs, Health, Higher Education, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice Reform, Parks and Recreation, Youth Engagement, Second Chance, Community and Family Engagement, Elementary and Secondary School Education, Housing, and Small Business and Workforce Development.
