Sept. 26: Males, 33 and 29, in Austin
“‘About 2 a.m. two men were struck as they sat on a porch in the 4800 block of West Augusta Boulevard. The first victim, a 33-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
He quickly stabilized and is said to be in good condition. The other victim, a 29-year-old man was grazed in the back of the leg. No information was immediately available on his condition or where he was treated,’ said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.”
Sept. 27: Male, 25 in North Lawndale
“Quinton D. Goins, 25, was fatally shot around 2 p.m. Sunday when people in two cars exchanged gunfire on the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road in the Lawndale neighborhood, authorities said.
“Goins, of the 3000 block of West Flournoy Street, was shot in the back and shoulder and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 2:42 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
“Goins was one of a reported 50 shooting victims in Chicago on the weekend of Sept. 25-27. It was the first time in four years that the city recorded over 50 shootings victims in back-to-back weekends.”
“About 11:20 p.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side, said Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Officer Janel Sedevic.
“The man was standing on the corner in the 5000 block of West Division Street when someone fired shots at him from a passing vehicle, Sedevic said.The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sedevic said.”
“About 6:45 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the 5000 block of West Crystal Street in the Austin neighborhood, police said.
“The man was outside walking when he heard gunshots. The man was hit in the right ankle and went to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Alfaro said. He was treated and released.”
Sept. 30: Males, 18 and 15, in Austin
“At 8:10 p.m. an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were wounded in the North Austin neighborhood, Sweeney said.
“They were in the 5000 block of West Division Street when they were both shot in the arm. The 18-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition had stabilized. The boy was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in good condition, said Sweeney.”
Delivery drivers robbed at gunpoint in Austin
Chicago Police are warning food delivery drivers of two recent armed robberies in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
The first robbery happened at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the 5300 block of West Ohio, where a delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Area North detectives.
The second robbery happened in the 5500 block of West Ohio at 10 p.m. Sept. 22, police said. In that case, the driver was able to drive away.
The suspects are described as two black men between 25 and 30, police said. One of the men is about 5-foot-7. The third suspect is described as a black female about 5-foot-6 and 200 pounds.

Man, possible homicide suspect, leads police on car chase throughout West Side
A possible homicide suspect who led police on a 30-minute, high speed car chase on the West Side around 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 29, is in custody.
Police started following a black jeep at Madison and Sacramento just after 5 p.m. The jeep traveled around 70 miles per hour over a span of six or seven miles across the West Side.
The driver, identified as a black male, age unknown, eventually abandoned the vehicle in an alley and ran on foot Northbound down an alleyway and into an apartment building, which police quickly surrounded. Police said they finally found him in the first floor unit.
Felisia Sanders, who lives across the hall, said she was grateful she was away at the time. Police say they recovered a firearm from the man’s vehicle.
Area North detectives are currently investigating the homicide in which the man is implicated, but they have not provided specific information on the case.
