Register your front porch to qualify for repair assistance on Sept. 8

Residents seeking to take advantage of the city’s Roof and Porch Repair Program don’t want to miss the one-day registration session for the program on Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Property owners can also apply online at cityofchicago.org/roofandporch, or call 311 to be placed on the waiting list.

The Roof and Porch program is designed to provide $5,000 to $30,000 grants to low- and moderate-income owners of 1- to 4-unit residential properties who want to repair and/or replace their roofs and porches. Come hear about North Lawndale’s biggest development in years, Sept. 8

The second public meeting for the proposed 320,000 square foot Clarius Park development, along Roosevelt and Kostner in North Lawndale, will take place at Homan Square Park, 3559 West Arthington, on Sept. 8, at 6 p.m.

The meeting is hosted by Ald. Michael Scott, Jr. (24th) and will feature the project’s developers, who estimate that the construction of the industrial campus, which will have retail and warehouse space, could create more than 300 jobs.
