Healthy Hygiene Workshop at Primo Center, hosted by Hands of Hope for You in conjunction with Sistas of the Hood on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Come join us to talk about hygiene tips, building self-esteem, facts on domestic violence, open discussion of girl talk and more.

Above and  Beyond Family Recovery Center in partnership with Apple One Employment Agency, will be hosting a recruiting and job readiness day on           Friday, Nov. 18, at the Above and Beyond center, 2942 W. Lake Street, in Garfield Park.

Recruiters from Apple One will be onsite providing information about job preparedness, accepting resumes and providing a list of some of their current job openings for attendees.

The event will start at 12:00 p.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m. There will be three sessions from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Seating is limited and will be    on a first come first seated basis.

Register for a youth basketball league

Registration for the Amundsen Park Youth Development Basketball League started on Nov. 5 at Amundsen Park, 6200 W. Bloomingdale Ave. The co-ed league has three divisions: baby (5 to 8 years), junior (9 to 11 years) and intermediate (12 to 14 years).

The supplement draft begins Nov. 12. Practice starts Nov. 19. The season begins Jan. 7. The league fee, which includes payments to officials, uniforms, awards and the banquet, are $75.00 per participant.
