On Dec. 18, the Jehova Jireh #1 Outreach Ministry will host a coat drive and community feeding at By The Hand Club for Kids, 415 N. Laramie Ave., from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The ministry, perhaps best known for its continued presence on the corner of Central and Madison, will give away numerous winter necessities, such as used and new coats, and donated clothes. In addition, they’ll have free food and card games.

Visit the annual Holiday Flower Show at the Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central, while Christmas still looms in the future. This year’s exhibit, Sky Forest, evokes a walk through wintery woods and highlights the towering beauty of the Fraser fir tree.
