Stop by the North Austin Library, 5724 W. North Ave., on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to meet Chantelle Branch, the author of “Decisions.” The novel depicts the struggles of 21-year-old Maci, who “becomes trapped like a slave by the man who she loves dearly.”

Helping Hand M.B. Church’s Annual Back to School Community Fest will be held on Aug. 12, 12 p.m. until 5 p.m., in the church’s parking lot, 538 N. Lavergne. The theme is Youth Explosion.
