Explore a new exhibition at Garfield Park Conservatory
On Thursday, April 26, 9 a.m., at the Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Ave., an exhibition of new work by the conservatory’s artist in residence, Claire Pentecost, will open and run until Oct. 31.
“The Persistence of the Unsorted” explores the context that the plants in a conservatory leave behind when removed from their native landscape. For more info, visit garfieldconservatory.org or call (312) 746-5100.
Celebrate International Table Top Day
On Saturday, April 28, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Austin Branch Library, 5615 W. Race Ave., the library will host International Tabletop Day — a celebration of games played on tabletops including board, card, or even dice games.
Once a year when the first buds of spring begin to unfurl from their winter slumber, International Tabletop Day brings us back to the table in contest or cooperation. It is a time of friends tasked with war and strangers finding a common bond to survive through the next turn. For more info, call (312) 746-5038.
