Get your fresh produce 

On Tuesday, June 5, at 330 N. Lotus Ave., the PCC Austin Farm Stand kicked off its eighth year of selling low-priced, organically grown fruits and vegetables in Austin. The produce is harvested locally from the PCC Austin Farm.

Customers will be able to choose from among a variety of seasonal items, including tomatoes, okra, garlic, lettuce, cucumbers, mustard and collard greens.

This summer, the farm stand will be open every Tuesday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Oct. 20.

The stand accepts various payment methods, including cash, credit/debit, LINK, Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers, and Women, Infants and Children (WIC) farmers’ market coupons. Double value incentives are available for LINK and WIC purchases. 

Get on the bus for Father’s Day 

On Saturday, June 9, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Congressman Danny K. Davis will host a Father’s Day Bus Trip to Sheridan Correctional Center. The bus will depart and return at 2713-15 W. 5th. Free food, family resources, haircuts and more. For more info, contact Cherita Logan at (773) 533-7520. 

Enjoy a Jubilee service 

On Tuesday, June 12, 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), at New Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, 4301 W. Washington Blvd., the Leaders Network will host a Justice Jubilee Service featuring Rev. Al Sharpton and the 100 Voices Leaders Network Justice Choir led by Donald “Buster” Woods.
