Listen to former Whole Foods co-CEO

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Thatcher Woods Pavilion, 8030 Chicago Ave. in River Forest, area Rotary Clubs will host Walter Robb, the former co-CEO of Whole Foods Market. 

West Side native and Rotarian Talei Thompson is helping organize the event. The moderator for the evening is Hermene Hartman, the founder and editor of N'Digo magazine. Tickets are $25. To purchase one or more tickets, visit and search "Walter Robb." 

Seniors, eat breakfast for free 

On Saturday, Jan. 12, 8 a.m., at MacArthur's, 5412 W. Madison St., the Jackson Action Coalition will host their Free Senior Empowerment Breakfast. Free breakfast for the first 100 seniors (64 years and older). RSVP at or call (773) 345-8689. 


Attend a mayoral forum about
Chicago's neighborhoods

On Saturday, Jan. 12, 9 a.m., at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt, the One Chicago for All Alliance will host a forum for Chicago mayoral candidates to talk about their vision for the city's neighborhoods.  

Transportation provided by New Covenant Community Development Corporation and the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council. A bus will depart from 1111 S. Homan in Chicago (bus to transport to and from event).
