Chicago State University receives national recognition for integrated marketing strategies

Chicago, IL - For the second consecutive year,  the Marketing and Communication department at Chicago State University (CSU) received national recognition for its' integrated marketing strategies, which seeks to build on the University's brand and reputation. 

CSU was recently informed it has received two Collegiate Advertising Awards including a gold medal in the recruitment category for its graduate program coffee sleeve promotion.  The coffee sleeves, which were utilized at area coffee shops, targeted business and healthcare professionals and exposed them to graduate programs offered at CSU.  The sleeves included an incentivized message and a promotional code to generate interest, thus driving results.

The university also received a silver medal for its "Choose Your Career Path" advertising campaign.  Both campaigns promote academic programs that are currently in high demand.  Recognized for its creativity, message effectiveness, design work and production quality, the campaign entries were judged by independent industry experts.

"These awards represent the university's brand and are a reflection of our campus community," LaShondra Peebles, interim vice president of enrollment management said.  "The university campaign is based on the success of our students, faculty and alumni.  The marketing and communications team are true story tellers.  Their talents go beyond creative design and messaging, they understand prospective students."

The Collegiate Ad Award is an elite program designed to honor higher education institutions and marketing professionals for their outstanding achievement and excellence in marketing.  Chicago State University competed with institutions across the nation and was among 8% of applicants who received this honor.

Last year, the university received silver Collegiate Ad Award for the 2012 State the Facts campaign.  The marketing and communications department goal is to increase brand visibility through consistent messaging and outreach in support of the university's strategic plan.
