Austin residents may visit the produce market on Friday, July 11th , until 2 p.m. in the parking lot of PCC Austin Family Health Center, 5425 West Lake Street. The Austin clinic will offer free recipe ideas and tips on healthy eating.
The market will be at the same location every Friday in July and August from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Produce is supplied by Testa Produce, Inc. a Chicago based food distributor located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. Testa is committed to green technologies and sustainable energy production. Its facility is the First Platinum LEED certified food distribution facility in the United States, and the company has a green rooftop and retention pond for water conservation. They also utilize renewable energy sources including solar panels and a wind turbine to provide power for the facility. Through this partnership, PCC can offer a wider variety of fresh produce to our community.
