The West Garfield Park Community Stakeholders are hosting a Community Empowerment Event for Environmental and Social Change for the month October 2015 called the 2nd Annual Anti-Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention Day.
Your continued Prayers, Leadership, Involvement and Physical Support, are the Tools in Creating Environmental Changes via the following:
1.  Changing the public perception and attitudes.
2.  Improving the quality of life for our children, while also working to enforce laws and regulations, thereof.
3.  Decreasing the availability or access to harmful drugs and use. 
4.  While addressing other factors affecting public health and safety. 
Theme:  "Don't Drink, Smoke or Kill" - "Love Yourself" and  Support Our Pledge to Promote A Safe and Drug Free West Side.
Date:  Monday, October 05, 2015
Where:  United For Better Living Building
            4540 West Washington, Blvd.
Time:  5:30 pm until 8:30 pm
(5:30 - 6pm Registration, Refreshments & Networking)
(6 - 8pm Community Town Hall Meeting)
Who:  West Side Community Leaders, Stakeholders and Concerned Citizens
Why:  Bridging the Intergenerational Gaps Between Young People, Mental Health and Mature Adults, to Reduce Underage Drinking, Substance Abuse and Senseless Violence. Community Empowerment Day
Invited and Supported Guests:  Congressman Danny K. Davis, Senator A. Lightford, Senator Don Harmon, Senator Patricia Van Pelt, Rep. Pamela Reaves-Harris, Representative LaShawn Ford, Representative Camille Lilly, Clerk Dorothy Brown, Commissioner Robert Steele, Commissioner Richard Boykin, Alderman Jason Ervin, Alderman Chris Taliaferro, Commander Barbara West and Commander Dwayne Betts and YOU.
Volunteers and Donations are Welcome - Let's Show Our Children That We Love and Need Them Safe and Drug Free.  RESOURCES TABLES ARE FREE AND AVAILABLE...
