In April, a group of West Side students braved a snowstorm to embark on a tour of several Historically Black Colleges and Universities — courtesy of Introspect Youth Services, Inc., a West Side organization that provides young people with college prep resources, and to various educational and cultural experiences.

The students' first stop was the campus of Lincoln University in Jefferson, Mo. The next day, they traveled to the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in Arkansas. That was visit was followed by a visit to Dillard University in New Orleans, La. After touring the Big Easy, the students stopped in Memphis, Tenn.

"The students on the tour had an opportunity to visit several Historically Black Colleges and Universities," Introspect officials said. "The tour participants got an opportunity to see firsthand collegiate life on some of our nation's most notable black colleges and universities. The five night, six day tour journey through the South included a number of historic sites. This was the third campus tour Introspect sponsored during the winter and spring of 2019."
