Learn how parenting can prevent violence

Enjoy a community potluck

The community organization Root2Fruit will host an Austin community potluck on Thursday, June 8, 6 p.m., at Frederick Douglas High School, 543 N. Waller Ave. Bring a dish, try a dish! Join our open discussion and peace circle.

Get empowered during a business reception

Join local business owners from across Austin and the western suburbs — including Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Bellwood, Broadview and Maywood — for a small business resource reception on Wednesday, June 14, 6 p.m., at Community Bank of Oak Park and River Forest, 7751 W. Lake St. in River Forest.

Network, receive financial tools, pose for a free professional headshot, enjoy food and drinks, and get empowered. Special guests will include Amara Enyia, policy expert and head of the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
