Students at the elementary school, 932 N. Central Ave., a Chicago Public Schools Track E school, started their year in August with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new playground and a longer school day. The longer day for CPS students citywide includes 25 minutes for recess, which many view as a positive change, considering recess for many CPS students was a thing of the past.
