Aug. 27 was a milestone day for Ford Desired Real Estate, Inc. and LaShawn Ford, the young owner and entrepreneur who opened his corporate offices at 5714 W. Division St. Ford, a former school teacher, combined his grand opening with a back-to-school health and resource fair.
On hand for the health fair were Circle Family Care, Dr. Thomas Huggett, Maria Rivera & Staff, the Chicago Dept. of Public Health, and Herminia Guerrera.
Deborah Williams, executive administrative assistant, welcomed everyone. Opening prayer was delivered by Rev. Audray McClay and Rev. Glen Harris. Among the elected officials and notables present were Ald. Isaac Carothers (29th Ward), State Sen. Don Harmon (39th), State Rep. Deborah Graham (78th), Bishop C. Sparks of New Pleasant Valley Cathedral and Martinez Brothers, Residential Networks.
Ford paid recognized the fair’s corporate sponsors: Michelle Collins, Shorebank; Sheila R. Ford Desired Realty’s eager young staff were dressed in white and blue and spoke about how motivated they are working for LaShawn.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was blessed by Fr. Kenneth Fischer and the program concluded with a tour of the new offices.
